Jones was having trouble with operator assistance.
"Ottinwell," he said, "I need the number for George
Ottinwell."
Predictably, the operator said, "Would you spell that last
name for me, please?"
Jones sighed and began, "O as in Oscar, T as in Thomas, T
as in Thomas again, I as in Ivan, W as in Wallace..."
Whereupon the operator interrupted, "W as in what?"
